Pleasant start for Monday, rain arrives by mid-week

Posted: Updated:
GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Skies will remain partly cloudy overnight as temperatures drop down into the lower 60s across the Upstate and into the mid-50s in western North Carolina. Winds will be calm, allowing patchy fog to develop in the mountains.

Monday will see a mix of sun and clouds with temperatures once again peaking above normal. Northeast Georgia and the Upstate will climb into the upper 80s with gentle winds between 5 and 10 mph out of the southwest. Western North Carolina will see light winds out of the south and heat up into the lower 80s.

We will hold on to a slight chance of a scattered shower or thunderstorm developing in the afternoon during peak heating. However, Monday will remain mostly dry and pleasant with any rain development being short lived.

Tuesday is looking like a carbon copy of Monday with Wednesday bringing more in the way of rain chances as a cold front approaches. This front will bring rain for Thursday as well as cooler temperatures for the remainder of the week.
