ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Anderson police said a man was injured when a gunman ran through a backyard, firing shots at him on Monday.

Lt. David Creamer said the victim was with another person fixing the car when the unknown gunman fired three to five shots at him.

The shooting happened just after noon along Zeno Street.

The homeowner told FOX Carolina he was underneath the car working on it for the victim when he heard several gunshots go off. The man said the shooter came running from his backyard, firing at the victim, and they both took off running.

The victim was shot in the leg and taken to the hospital, but there is no word on his condition, Creamer said.

Police did not have a good description of the shooter or car.

Anyone with information on the shooting should call Anderson police or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
