Rain is back in the forecast for most days this week. But Tuesday and Wednesday do not look like washout days. Each afternoon we'll see a few showers and thunderstorms pop up, which means about a 20 percent chance of rain for Upstate spots and a 40 percent chance in the mountains.
Any storm that develops couple become briefly strong, with damaging wind, hail and torrential downpours. The best chance for rain on Tuesday and Wednesday will be between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
By Thursday the rain chances go up. A cold front will move in, bringing widespread rain and thunderstorms. Heavy rain could cause localized flooding, and a few storms could produce wind damage.
