SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Spartanburg man has been charged after deputies said they found gambling machines and drugs in his home.

On May 2, deputies went to a home on E. Ridge Drive to conduct a "knock and talk" about complaints of drug activity, according to the incident report provided by the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said a woman answered the door and denied there was any drug activity and gave consent for them to search the house, the report said.

Deputies found three table-top gambling machines in a room where the woman had secured her dogs during the search, according to the report.

The woman said the machines were the property of her live in boyfriend, 48-year-old Robert Rinehart.

Deputies said more than $900 was seized in connection with the machines and pills were found in the home.

Rinehart was charged with possession of a schedule IV drugs with intent to distribute and operating a gaming house.
