Investigators look for info after stolen check cashed in Spartanburg

SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office is trying to identify a man after a stolen check was deposited at a Wells Fargo ATM in the county. 

According to the incident report, a man went to the bank for his mother when he discovered more than $1,000 missing from her account.

The man told deputies he found one her checks was stolen and forged in the amount of $1,291, the report said.

The report stated the check was made payable to Saul Santos.

The victim said the check was stolen from a home in Boiling Springs.

Deputies said the surveillance photos show a man depositing the checks into the ATM at the Wells Fargo on John B. White Sr. Boulevard.

Investigators are asking for help identifying the man.

They ask anyone with information about the case to call Crime Stoppers at 888-CRIME-SC.
