ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

An Anderson man accused of an armed robbery was taken into custody on Thursday.

Lt. Sheila Cole of the Anderson County Sheriff's Office said arrest warrants were secured for 20-year-old Naquarius Ikeem Watt in connection with the armed robbery at Sun City Food Mart on May 9.

According to the incident report from the robbery, a man went into the store and pulled out a gun. the man then fired four shots. Cole said one of the shots was aimed towards a surveillance camera and another struck behind the register.

Footage from undamaged surveillance cameras and witnesses led to investigators getting warrants for Watt, Cole said.

He is charged with attempted murder, armed robbery and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Watt was taken into custody by the Anderson City Police Department on Thursday morning for a similar offence, according to Cole.

He is being held at the Anderson County Detention Center. Cole said a hold has been placed on him by the sheriff's office.

In April 2013, Watt was arrested by the sheriff's office on armed robbery and assault and battery charges, Cole said. The charges were pled to common law robbery and assault and battery, according to Cole.

He was sentenced to a year in prison but received early release.
