GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Greenville County Sheriff's Office is asking for assistance identifying a person they said was involved in an armed robbery.

Master Deputy Jonathan Smith said on Wednesday around 1:50 a.m. the man entered the 7-Eleven gas station on Wade Hampton Boulevard in Taylors and told an employee that he had a gun.

Smith said the man then demanded the clerk give him the money in the cash register. The clerk gave him the money and he fled, he said.

According to Smith, no injuries were reported in the incident.

Smith said the man is described as being in his late 30s to early 40s, approximately 5'7", 200 pounds, with short hair and a beard.

The sheriff's office released surveillance photos from the robbery. The man is seen in the photos wearing a red and white zipup sweatshirt and black pants.

The sheriff's office asks anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 864-23-CRIME.
