SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies in Spartanburg County said the hunt for a toddler that was seen wandering on the roadside by a passing motorist on Mount Zion Road near North Blackstock Road ended when deputies found the child at his home Thursday afternoon, according to Lt. Tony Ivey.

Ivey said the child was spotted by another driver, who picked up the boy and drove him to his home on Holmes Drive, following directions given by the child.

The boy's guardian told deputies that the child was able to slip out without them realizing he was gone, Ivey said.

No charges have been filed in the case, but deputies are continuing to investigate, Ivey said.
