WALHALLA, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A diesel fuel leak closed down a major artery in Oconee County on Thursday afternoon.

Chief Buck Haney said Blue Ridge Blvd. was closed between Memorial Drive and the Bountyland intersection around 3 p.m.

Haney said a tractor trailer carrying the diesel was pulling out of a driveway when it hit a curb, causing the leak.

He said about 75 gallons were spilled.

The road reopened just after 4 p.m.

Haney said there was no environmental hazard.
