Three charged following armed burglary in Marion

MARION, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Detectives with the McDowell County Sheriff's Office said two people face several charges after they broke into a home, armed with a gun.

Detectives said Stephanie Riddle of Morganton and Winston Webster of Marion broke into a home on Ashworth Road on Monday.

During a standoff with the armed intruders, detectives said one of the men living at the home stabbed Webster in the abdomen.

Webster was taken to hospital and charged after he was released, detectives said.

The homeowner, a disabled man, was also hurt but was not taken to the hospital, detectives said.

During the investigation, deputies said they found a small amount of methamphetamine on Sarah Riddle, who lives at the home of Ashworth Road.

Deputies said they charged Stephanie Riddle with felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, felony breaking and entering and misdemeanor assault on a handicapped person.

Deputies said Webster was charged with one felony count each of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, assault by pointing a gun and breaking and entering.

Sarah Riddle was also charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, deputies said.
