SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Spartanburg police took an attempted murder suspect into custody at a home in the county on Tuesday afternoon, public safety officials told FOX Carolina.

Police said 45-year-old Ricky Lee Davis was wanted in connection with the shooting of a woman on May 25. He was considered armed and dangerous.

Capt. Regina Nowak said Davis was taken into custody at the home at Woodlawn Avenue off South Church Street.

Davis appeared before a judge early Wednesday morning, where he was denied bond on the charges of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Also in court was the victim who police said Davis shot during a party at a home on Wofford Street. She was recently released from the hospital, but details on how she is doing were not released.

Deputies initially said they were investigating a homicide at the Woodlawn address, but they later said it was not an active homicide scene.
