COLUMBIA, SC (AP) -

South Carolina has signed forwards Shamiek Sheppard and James Thompson for next season after two newcomers from last year's squad transferred.

Gamecocks head coach Frank Martin announced the signings of Sheppard and Thompson on Tuesday. They join two signees from last fall in TeMarcus Blanton and Marcus Stroman.

The additions continue Martin's makeover of the Gamecocks since he arrived following the 2011-12 season. He brought in eight new faces before last season. The Gamecocks are not expected to have any seniors in their regular rotation when practice starts next fall.

Sheppard is a 6-foot-6 forward from Brooklyn, New York, who played last season at Fishburne Military School in Virginia. Thompson is 6-9 and played at Parkview Baptist High in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
