ABBEVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Honea Path woman has been charged after numerous animals were seized from her farm on Monday.

According to warrants, 34-year-old Hilerey Kinzel, of Honea Path, is accused of "unlawfully torturing, cruelly killing and causing unnecessary pain and suffering upon a brown horse and a black dog," causing their deaths.

She is also accused of leaving their bodies to decompose at her home on Malone Road in Abbeville County.

Warrants said Kinzel is also accused of not providing necessary food and shelter to five horses, two goats, three dogs and numerous hens and roosters.

The animals were described as being "unkempt and severely malnourished, suffering in high temperatures, without the necessities for life."

She faces a total of four charges: one count of abandonment of animals, two counts of ill treatment of animals and one count of improperly burying a dead animal.

The surviving animals were brought to Big Oaks Animal Farm until the case is resolved.

Deputies said Kinzel was given a $10,000 surety bond on the charges.
