GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Multiple cars were riddled with bullets after shots were fired at a Greenville County apartment complex on Monday night, according to Lt. Tim Ridgeway with the sheriff's office.

Ridgeway said the shooting was reported after two groups were seen near Highland Square Apartments on Pine Creek Ct. Extension.

He said they were investigating a trail of blood, but no victims were found at the scene.

According to Ridgeway, a gunshot victim was brought to Greenville Health Systems with a possible gunshot wound to the ear, but he did not confirm it was related to the incident at Highland Square.

He also said another gunshot victim was reported on Hoston Drive, not far from where the shooting was reported. It was not confirmed if that victim was related to the incident either.

He said the shootings may have been gang related.
