UNION, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Two Union County deputies were injured when they chased after a suspect who resisted arrest, according to a sheriff's office report.

Deputies were responding to Gregory Peake's home to serve two bench warrants for his arrest on Wednesday. According to deputies, Peake had an open container and driving under the influence warrants.

When officers told Peake, 29, he was under arrest, he took off running, the report stated. One officer tripped Peake, causing them both to fall to the ground, deputies said.

Peake got up and kept running and as the two officers chased after him, the other ran into a clothes line, the report stated.

They were able to catch Peake and take him into custody and both officers were treated and released from the hospital, deputies said. They said one officer had a cut across his face from the clothes line and the other injured his elbow from the fall.

Peake was also charged with resisting arrest.
