ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Anderson County deputies are investigating a shooting after a man reported being shot on Thursday.

Deputies said the shooting happened on Finley Street in Anderson about 10:30 a.m.

According to Lt. Sheila Cole, the victim was shot in the leg and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

She said the man initially told investigators he was shot by a man on a moped, but deputies have determined that was not the case.

Investigators at the scene said the victim was walking along Finley Street when he was shot. They said the victim gave them a name of a suspect who has been in jail for more than a month.

Deputies at the scene said they were getting ready to search a home on Finley Street in connection with the investigation.
