HENDERSONVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

A man was electrocuted and died after it appeared his sailboat came into contact with powerlines on Thursday, according to the Henderson County Sheriff's Office.

Chief Deputy Frank Stout said Henderson County EMS and the Green River Fire Department responded to a cardiac arrest call at Lake Summitt near Camp Mondamin where they found a man beside his vehicle.

First responders believe the man was either moving a sailboat in or out of the water when the boat came into contact with power lines, causing the man to be electrocuted.

The victim's name has not been released at this time.
