SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

An early morning head-on crash blocked northbound traffic along Interstate 85 Business in Spartanburg on Friday.

Troopers said the crash happened just before 4:20 a.m. near mile marker 5 and Heron Circle.

Troopers said a Ford Mustang was headed south in the northbound lane when it hit a Honda Civic head-on, entrapping all three people in the vehicles.

The driver of the Mustang was a 42-year-old Rutherfordton woman while the 19-year-old driver of the Honda Civic and his 17-year-old passenger were from Lyman, according to troopers.

All three people were wearing their seatbelts and were taken to Spartanburg Regional with injuries.

The Highway Patrol said the wreck remains under investigation.
