GREER, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The solicitor's office said a teen will be charged as an adult in a deadly stabbing at a home in the River Birch Villas community, a gated neighborhood off East Suber Road near Riverside High School in Greer.

Officers arrived to the home early Saturday morning to find three people who had been hurt in the fight: a 16-year-old suffering from apparent gunshot wounds and his two grandparents suffering from stab wounds.

Deputy Coroner Jeff Fowler said the grandfather died from the stab wounds at the scene.

The grandmother and the teenager were taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital to be treated.

By Saturday night, police said they took 16-year-old Zachary Adam Wilkins into custody. He was charged with murder, attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

According to warrants, he stabbed his grandmother in the neck and repeatedly stabbed his grandfather.

The coroner's office identified the grandfather as Thomas Wilkins, 60, of River Birch Way in Greer.

Zachary Wilkins is being held on no bond at the Greenville County Detention Center.
