ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Some unique dolls created by more than 100 artists from across the world will be on display in Asheville through Sunday.

The International Doll Show opened Saturday in the Crowne Plaza in Asheville.

On Saturday, doll maker Jack Johnston was presented a lifetime achievement award for the character dolls he has created during his 25-year career.

"I did a series for the Norman Rockwell Corporation and for Disney and each of the dolls I do tell a story." Johnston said.

There are several different categories of dolls on display, including lifelike, fantasy and plush dolls.

The dolls are for sale, and some cost more than a thousand dollars.

Tickets to the International Doll Show are $10. Doors open at 9 a.m.
