High Pressure turns up the heat for the Carolinas

Posted: Updated:
GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The next few days will see an increase of temperatures as high pressure grabs a hold of the southeast. Around this time of year we normally see temperatures peak in the upper 80s across the Upstate and lower 80s in the mountains.

For the second half of our weekend and even further into the work week we will see temperatures climb above normal and remain as such for quite some time. Look to see Sunday approach 90 degrees across the upstate and the mountains climb into the mid-80s.

Monday will continue the warming trend with highs reaching the lower 90s and upper 80s. This hot streak with last through the work week with slight chances of afternoon thunderstorms forming from the heat of the day.

The hottest day looks to fall on Wednesday where our entire area can see highs reach the lower to mid-90s.
