Air Force Unit from Joint Base Charleston returning home
CHARLESTON, SC (AP) -
More than 80 Air Force personnel from Joint Base Charleston are returning home after a deployment to Southwest Asia.
The 437th Airlift Wing's 14th Airlift Squadron returns home Monday.
During their deployment the crews logged more than 3,000 combat flying hours and carried more than 40 million pound of cargo throughout Southwest Asia. They also transported more than 23,000 military personnel.
The return marks the first time in almost a decade that all four airlift squadrons from the base are in Charleston at the same time. Usually the return of one unit coincided with the deployment of another.
