Police: man runs over woman with ATV, gets hit with wrench
TYRONZA, AR (KAIT) - Tyronza police say a man ran a woman over with a four-wheeler, then became a victim himself when he was hit with a wrench.
According to police, the incident happened at the 300 block of Walnut Street early Sunday morning.
Police Chief Tony Turner tells Region 8 News that Joey Hood ran over Kimberly Burch with an ATV around 1 a.m. Sunday.
After the incident, Burch's boyfriend, Zach Pitts hit Hood over the head with a wrench. Hood and Burch were both taken to the MED in Memphis and have both since been released.
Zach Pitts faces one count of 2nd degree battery, a class D felony. Hood has not yet been arrested, as he was in the hospital.
Chief Turner said he is in contact with Prosecuting Attorney David Boling to determine what all charges Hood will face. Chief Turner said it is likely Hood will face a combination of felony and misdemeanor charges.
Alcohol was believed to be involved in the incident.
