USA soccer goalie gives Mid-Southerners reason to watch World Cup

Posted: Updated:

(WMC) - Team USA goalie Tim Howard is giving Mid-Southerners another reason to watch the World Cup.

Though Howard was born in New Jersey, he now lives in Memphis part time. He has been part of Team USA soccer for three World Cups.

Many soccer fans will tell you that Howard ranks high on the list of the world's best goalies.

Howard married a Germantown native, and they now have two children. When he is not playing for Team USA, he lives in Memphis. On Howard's Instagram profile, it reads, "JERSEY raised me, MANCHESTER made me, MEMPHIS completes me."

It is yet another reason to root for Memphis' own Tim Howard on the world stage at the World Cup.

Team USA is back in action against Portugal on Sunday, June 22.
