Richland County investigators have charged a man with attempted murder following a domestic incident on Tuesday night.
Richland County Sheriff's Department spokesman Sgt. Curtis Wilson says Rishi Dutt is charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, attempted murder, and simple possession of marijuana.
Authorities say they found Dutt assaulting his 6-month-old son when they arrived. Deputies, according Wilson, tried to subdue the man, but the father resisted arrest.
The child did suffer injuries to the upper body, but is recovering. Deputies also noted that the man's wife also did not suffer any significant injuries. Wilson stated that the father and the child were both taken to receive medical attention.
