NEBO, NC (FOX Carolina) -

The South Carolina House has passed legislation to name a ranger station in Nebo, NC, after an officer killed in the line of duty.

Congressman Mark Meadows said the ranger station in the Grandfather Ranger District will be named Jason Crisp Forest Service Building, in honor of Crisp who was killed during a manhunt for a homicide suspect in March.

"Officer Jason Crisp served his community bravely and selflessly. I hope this station will be a reminder to his family and friends of that service," Meadows stated in a press release.

Crisp, a 16-year veteran of the U.S. Forest Service, left behind a wife and two children.

His K-9, Marcos, was also shot and killed during the manhunt.
