SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A convenience store clerk was able to charm a suspected shoplifter and get his Facebook info, which she used to identify him to law enforcement, according to an incident report from the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office.

The clerk told deputies she was working at the Lil' Cricket store on Southport Road when a man left the store without paying for a candy bar and a pack of Grandma's cookies. The clerk said she believed the man put them in his pants when no one was looking.

According to the report, the clerk acted interested in the suspected shoplifter and asked him for his Facebook info.

The man gave her his name and Yahoo email address, which she later gave to deputies, the report said.

The store said they will provide surveillance video to law enforcement, the report stated.
