Deputies: Upstate parents arrested after baby tests positive for meth

SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

An Upstate couple was arrested after deputies said they tried to keep social services from taking their child after the baby tested positive for meth at birth.

Spartanburg County deputies said they were contacted by the Department of Social Services on Tuesday when they refused to turn over their child following an order from DSS.

Warrants state that the mother used meth while she was pregnant with the child and then on Tuesday, they tried to keep their child out of DSS custody.

According to deputies, DSS was involved since the girl tested positive for methamphetamine at birth and since then, the parents tested positive for meth multiple times.

Deputies charged Stacy Brock, 38, and Jennifer McJunkin, 25, with violation of an custody order. McJunkin was also charged with unlawful neglect of a child.
