GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A motorcycle collided with a deputy's unmarked cruiser during a sting operation on Thursday.

Greenville County deputies said they were doing a sting operation for a fraud case they had been investigating for several days, and when they went to apprehend the suspect, he jumped on a motorcycle and took off.

After a short pursuit, the motorcycle collided with an unmarked cruiser in the parking lot of Tokyo Grill off White Horse Road, deputies said.

Deputies said the man on the motorcycle burned his leg on the tailpipe of the bike during the incident and was taken to Greenville Health Systems.

Kyle Lyda was charged in connection with the incident with three counts of obtaining money under false pretenses. A judge set Lyda's bond at $30,000 Thursday night.

Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
