Storms caused many trees and power lines to go down across the mountains and Upstate on Thursday, and we could see a repeat of that for Friday. Severe storms will be possible Friday, mainly after 3 p.m.
Storms will be fueled by heat on Friday. Highs will reach the mid 90s for the Upstate and upper 80s in the mountains by Friday afternoon. Be sure to dress lightly and keep cool water on hand through the day.
The weekend will be hot and humid, with pop-up storms possible both Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Slightly cooler air arrives early next week.
