INMAN, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The SC Highway Patrol said three people were sent to the hospital and one driver is facing charges following a collision in Inman on Thursday evening.

The crash happened on Compton Bridge Road and Edwards Road, just 1.2 miles from Inman, at 7:10 p.m.

According to the SC Highway Patrol, 43-year-old Bobby Laughter was driving west on Edward Road when he didn't stop at the intersection and drove through a stop sign. Laughter was struck by an SUV, causing his vehicle to overturn.

Both Laughter and a passenger inside his car were wearing their seatbelts but became entrapped. Authorities had to cut them out of the vehicle using mechanical means. Laughter and the passenger were both transported by EMS to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

The driver of the SUV was also wearing her seatbelt but suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital, according to troopers.

Troopers said Laughter is charged with disregard for a stop sign.
