ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A man, who failed to attend the final two days of his trial, was convicted on Wednesday of multiple charges stemming from a February 2013 nightclub shooting.

Tenth Circuit Solicitor Chrissy Adams said Jamal Watt's sentence will remain sealed until he is taken into custody after being convicted of attempted murder, assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and resisting arrest.

On Feb. 16, 2013, Watt and another man got into a fight at TJ Whispers in Anderson. The other man was told to leave the club and he and his fiance went next door to Andrews nightclub.

Later in the evening, deputies were called to TJ Whispers for an unrelated matter. When deputies were about to leave, Watt and the victim got into a verbal altercation and Watt pulled out a pistol and fired it.

One round struck the door of the club next to where one of the deputies was standing. The officer was hit by debris from the shot, but was not injured.

Officers then told everyone to lay on the ground, at which time, Watt fled on foot.

He was eventually found in a dumpster behind Red Lobster and showed deputies where he tossed the gun.

According to Adams, Watt attended court on Monday morning, but failed to attend the rest of the trial.
