SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies said the man wanted after his wife was found stabbed inside a Lyman home has turned himself in.

Lt. Kevin Bobo with the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office said 43-year-old Christopher Middleton turned himself in at the warrants department Sunday morning.

Warrants were filed Friday, charging Middleton with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime after the stabbing on Lilly Lane.

Deputies said they were called to the home by a family member for a welfare check and as they arrived, they saw Middleton running away from the scene.

Deputies said they found Middleton's wife inside the house with stab wounds to the chest, stomach, shoulder, and hand. She was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Middleton was booked into the Spartanburg County Detention Center.
