- Swisscom chooses ThinkAnalytics for proven, personalized linear, replay TV and VOD recommendations and comprehensive multi-language support
- Now live on new Swisscom 2.0 Android IPTV set-top boxes and legacy set-top boxes
LONDON and LOS ANGELES, June 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- ThinkAnalytics™, developer of the world's most deployed multiplatform TV search and recommendations engine, has been selected by Swisscom to power personalized recommendations and search on its new TV 2.0 Android IPTV set-top boxes and legacy set-top boxes.
Swisscom TV 2.0 uses ThinkAnalytics' personalized, multi-language recommendations and intelligent search system for live, linear TV, replay TV, as well as VOD. The Recommendations Engine is integrated into the Swisscom EPG, making it easy for subscribers to discover new content. The service is live now.
The deployment at Swisscom uses a range of recommendations techniques – including personalized 'content for you', 'most watched/rented', highest rated, category-based, related content and intelligent search - to help subscribers discover appealing content across more than 250 live channels on Swisscom TV 2.0, and in multiple languages.
The deployment also supports Swisscom's seven-day catch-up service, Replay, which lets subscribers watch programs up to seven days after they were broadcast, and the Teleclub on-demand service, which features over 6,400 films in German, French and Italian and about 5,000 live sports events per year.
ThinkAnalytics' strong heritage in live, linear TV recommendations and unrivalled multi-language capabilities were key factors in Swisscom's decision.
"We selected ThinkAnalytics because we wanted a partner with proven experience in live, linear TV deployments and VOD," said Volker Dietzel, head of TV services at Swisscom. "We now have a personalized recommendations/search solution that incorporates advanced analytics and business rules and gives us flexibility and scalability, allowing us to add new features, support for additional devices, and additional services down the line."
"Swisscom's subscribers are now benefiting from full multi-language recommendations and search in German, French, Italian and English. With advanced recommendations baked into the EPG and supporting live TV as well as catch-up and on-demand, subscribers can easily find new, appealing content to consume," said Peter Docherty, Founder and Chief Technology Officer, ThinkAnalytics.
