NEBO, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies say a Nebo man who absconded in the Tatertown Loop area was captured on Tuesday evening.

McDowell County deputies said they went to serve arrest warrants for Joseph Mills, 24, at his South Sunny Grove Road home about 9:45 a.m.

But Mills fled, leading to a brief vehicle chase before he wrecked his car and ran into the woods around Tatertown Loop, deputies said.

Around 9 p.m., deputies said they captured Mills in Burke County.

Deputies said Mills was charged with two felony probation violations, felony fleeing to elude arrest, misdemeanor resisting arrest and misdemeanor reckless driving to endanger.
