WASHINGTON, DC (WTTG/FOX) - The National Zoo unveiled three new female Asian elephants.

Kamala, Swarna and Maharani are now on display to the public for the first time after 30 days in quarantine.

They arrived last month from Calgary Zoo in Canada.

The zoo opened the elephant community center with a focus specifically on Asian elephants.

They're still getting used to their surroundings, exploring their new home.

Their habitat resembles an indoor elephant sand box and includes a 5,700-square-foot barn, a pool and long walkways in between.
