PELZER, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Lisa Tucker, 10, does not have her driver's license yet, but her 1967 Volkswagen Bug was her baby.

"I was going to take it to car shows and stuff," said Tucker.

The car she had worked so hard to earn, saving up $2,000 over her short lifetime by doing chores and helping with her family's scrapyard business, was stolen Tuesday morning.

"My husband called me and he asked if the car was here, and I said 'Yeah, it's in the front yard,' and he said 'No, its not,'" said Joy Tucker, Lisa's mom.

The Tuckers own two other classic cars. Their hobby is refurbishing them. Their daughter was infatuated with the vehicle ever since she first saw it as a toddler, they said.

The Tuckers called Greenville County deputies, who are investigating. They also placed flyers offering $500 for anyone who can lead to the car's recovery. It is a 1967 Volkswagen Bug, dark blue in color.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Greenville County Sheriff's Office.
