GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Bullet holes are left in the door of an SUV and a seat after burglars shot out two windows of a Suburban parked in the driveway of a Greenville County home.

"We heard two gunshots at 5 a.m. Tuesday morning," the homeowner said. "I got up and looked outside and there were lights going through my truck which was parked in my driveway."

The homeowner, who didn't want to be identified, lives in Pelham Estates.

"As they were pulling away, they fired two shots presumably at me or my house," he said.

He said those burglars swiped some items from the SUV.

"I don't keep anything of value in there for this reason," he said.

But, he said his weapon of choice in the situation is much more powerful than the crime.

"I prayed for those individuals as they were speeding away," he said.

And now neighbors will meet and gather information about recent break-ins in the area.

"It's very scary - someone would need a gun to break into a car," Dean Batson said.

He moved to the neighborhood 12 years ago.

"We have not experienced anything like that before," Batson said.

Neighbors said there are reports in the area of several car break-ins.

"I think our neighborhood is prepared to attack the problem head on," Batson said.

The meeting will include a deputy from the Greenville County Sheriff's Office. Neighbors said they hope to get information about how to start a neighborhood watch group.

"It really doesn't matter the neighborhood. They're going to pick and choose where they want to go," Batson said.

And as investigators processed the dusting of potential fingerprints, the homeowner said he holds strong to his faith.

"We know that everything's in God's hands," he said.

No one was injured during the incident. Deputies with the Greenville County Sheriff's Office are investigating this case.
