Showers and thunderstorms will become likely by Friday afternoon, all as a low churns off the coast. An east breeze will help to pull in Atlantic moisture and increase our heavy rain threat.
The Upstate, mountains and northeast Georgia will have a 70 percent chance of rain through Friday night, then conditions should dry out late night. More showers and storms will develop on Saturday, mainly during the afternoon.
Sunday will be less wet, with only a 30 percent chance of afternoon storms. Highs will warm back into the low 90s for the Upstate and mid 80s in the mountains.
