OCONEE COUNTY, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Oconee County Emergency Services responded to reports of a possible plane crash late Thursday night.

The Oconee 911 Center received a call from a homeowner in the Westminster area around 10:40 p.m., according to Charlie King with Oconee County Emergency Services.

Fire and EMS crews responded to the area to locate the possible crash site. Residents in the area reported seeing a low flying plane, possibly headed toward Stephens, GA.

Search crews on the ground were unable to locate any sign of a crash.

The Anderson County Sheriff's Office aided in the search by sending out a helicopter equipped with an infrared camera.

Responding agencies included: Oconee County Emergency Services, Westminster Fire Department, Oconee EMS, Oconee County Sheriff's Office, and the Anderson County Sheriff's Office.

Oconee County Emergency Services scaled back the search efforts after finding no evidence of a crash, but will continue to work with the FAA and Civil Air Patrol to determine what happened, according to King.
