GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Blood Connection said they are desperate need of donations, as they are low on reserves.

According to their website, the Blood Connection has seen recent heavy hospital usage resulting in a critical need for donations of all blood types.

The Piedmont-based nonprofit blood center normally keeps several days' worth of blood inventories but said due to a lack of donations and increased need, they are down to dangerously low levels.

People wanting to donate blood can stop by one of their mobile blood banks or blood centers.  Click here to find donation drives or call 864-255-5000.

To help bring in immediate donations, the mobile banks will be out at several Upstate Walmarts on Friday, June 27.
