A few showers moved into the western Carolinas and northeast Georgia on Monday morning, bringing a slight chance of rain and fog to the area.
Meteorologist Nicole Papay said much of the heavy rain in Tennessee should break down as it gets into the mountains and Upstate.
Partly cloudy skies and scattered rain showers will linger throughout the day, with the chance for stronger storms more possibly in the afternoon.
Highs will approach 90 degrees in the Upstate while western North Carolina peaks in the mid-80s. Winds will be out of the southwest between five and 10 miles per hour.
Monday night will stay mild with lows once again dropping into the 60s. Skies will open up for more sunshine as temperatures climb into the 90s area-wide Tuesday.
The warm up will continue on Wednesday with highs in the lower to mid-90s under partly cloudy skies.
