SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Police said they responded to a Spartanburg home after someone called 911 but only screams could be heard in the background.

Spartanburg police said as they arrived at the Scottswood Drive home Friday just after 11 p.m., they spoke with a woman who said someone shot up the house.

Police said the back door was shattered and there were several bullet holes around the back door.

The woman told officers when she heard the gunshots, she grabbed her dog and dropped to the floor.

Her brother was inside the home and was hit in the shooting, police said. They said the man was already headed to the hospital as they arrived and was shot twice in the buttocks. Police said he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

According to the police report, bullet casings were found inside the home. Police said they spoke to another person who was inside the home, who said he was lying on the floor in the den when the shots were fired and did not know anything else.

Police did not say if any suspects had been identified in connection with the shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
