GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Greenville police said two men got into a fight after the downtown bars closed on Sunday and one of the men pulled out a pocketknife, stabbing the other in the stomach.

Police spokesperson Johnathan Bragg said an officer on patrol intervened in the fight that broke out at West Washington and Laurens streets, arresting the armed suspect.

According to arrest warrants, the victim was walking with friends when they got into a fight with the suspect, 39-year-old Jamie McAbee.

McAbee then lunged at the victim, stabbing him in the lower left part of his torso and was taken to the hospital, according to arrest warrants. Bragg said the victim was treated and released.

McAbee was arrested and charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
