SENECA, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Investigating a complaint at a Seneca home, deputies said a social worker discovered marijuana plants growing.

Oconee County deputies said a Department of Social Services worker was called to the home on Friday but the man, identified as William Craig Jr., 31, would not let the worker inside.

The worker notified deputies they saw a flower pot by the home with what looked like a marijuana plant growing, according to sheriff's office spokesperson Jimmy Watt.

Deputies were then called and given permission to search the home, Watt said. He said deputies found six marijuana plants inside a trash bag in the trunk of a car.

Craig admitted that the plants were his and said no one else knew about them, according to Watt.

Deputies arrested Craig and charged him with manufacturing marijuana and he was released on bond.
