PENDLETON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A man is accused of threatening to kill himself and others when he could not get a joint from a Pendleton doctor's office, according to Anderson County deputies.

Deputies said the man, identified as 28-year-old Randy Beatty, entered the AnMed office on Meehan Way on Monday about 1:30 p.m. and complained his head hurt.

Beatty asked the employees in the lobby for a joint and when he was told they did not have any, he pulled up his shirt revealing a gun in his waistband, according to the deputy's report.

Deputies said the man threatened to kill himself and others, though he did not specifically mention killing the employee or patient in the lobby.

Beatty then left and was found later walking towards Village Hill Drive, deputies said. The report stated he did not have the gun on him, first claiming to have thrown it in a lake then saying he had given it to someone else.

Deputies arrested Beatty, charging him with two counts of pointing and presenting a weapon at a person.
