WATERLOO, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Firefighters and paramedics were called to Lake Greenwood in Waterloo on Tuesday, as the busy boating season gets underway, after kids collided with a boat while riding on an inner tube.

Boyd Taylor with the Laurens County Fire Department said the two children were on an inner tube pulled by a Jet Ski when they lost control and fell off the tube near River Fork Road.

Taylor said as the kids fell off the innertube, they hit an oncoming boat, moving slowly. He said the boater stopped, pulled the kids into the boat and got them help.

One child's leg was injured and the other was OK, Taylor said.

Taylor said the lake will be packed with July 4 approaching and reminds people to be aware of their surroundings, knowing where other boaters and oncoming boats are at all times.
