According to the CDC About 10 people die a day from unintentional drowning in a swimming pool.

The project put on by the Cincinnati Recreation Commission called "I Can Swim" is aimed to get those numbers down.

Organizers with the program help people of all ages learn to swim, refine their swimming skills, and teach water safety.

The Red Cross says more than half of Americans can't swim.

To sign up you can visit any CRC swimming pool to register.  You can also call 513-357-POOL (7665) or email aquatics@cincinnati-oh.gov.

Scholarships to participate in the class are available.
