A Spartanburg woman accused of striking her husband with a hammer and then hitting her neighbor's car and lawnmower has been charged.

Deputies responded to a home on Johnson Circle in reference to a domestic disturbance on June 15. There they spoke with the victim who told them he and his wife got into an argument after she came home from a party intoxicated.

The victim told deputies his wife woke him up complaining that he doesn't take care of her.

The report said the man then went into a bedroom and placed his back against to the door.

His wife, 22-year-old Rebecca McDonald, then began hitting the door with a hammer, shattering a glass mirror hanging on it, according to the report.

McDonald was able to get the hammer inside the door and struck her husband in the shoulder before he was able to grab it out of her hand, the report stated.

The man then got on his moped and drove to his neighbor's house.

According to the report, McDonald followed him over while driving intoxicated and hit a car parked in the driveway and a riding lawnmower.

She then rammed into her husband's moped causing it to hit the house, damaging the foundation, the report said.

The report said McDonald then left, but only to return 15 minutes later and punch her husband in the face.

As she was leaving, she struck the car in the driveway a second time, the report said.

According to arrest warrants, McDonald is charged with malicious injury to personal property, greater than $10,000.
