63 abducted females escape extremists in Nigeria
More than 60 women and girls abducted by suspected Boko Haram militants escaped their captors, Agence France-Presse reported Sunday. They were among the girls abducted in June near the town of Damboa in northeastern Nigeria.
The girls took the opportunity to escape Friday when their captors were
away fighting. "They took the bold step when their abductors moved out
to carry out an operation," local vigilante Abbas Gava said.

Facebook removes mom's photo of daughter's bare bum
We've all seen the original Coppertone ad where the dog tugs at a little girl's suit and exposes her tan line.
Jill White, a photographer from North Carolina, told WBTV that she had
recreated the famous "Coppertone Girl" pose with her two-year-old
daughter. The photo was deemed "pornographic" by Facebook and she was
threatened with a lifetime ban.
White said after the photo was reported to Facebook the first time, she
was banned for 24 hours. After the ban, she censored the photo and
reposted it onto Facebook.
Facebook defended its guidelines to WBTV.
"It is hard. With over 1 billion people using Facebook we have to put in
place a set of universal guidelines that respect the views of a wide
range of people," a Facebook spokesperson said.
World's tallest water slide tests its first human
The verrückt, the world's tallest
water slide in Kansas City, has finally started testing with
real humans.
You may remember early tests
featured on the Travel Channel showing the raft lift off into the
air.
Now, the slide's engineers have
finally tested it out and point of view footage showing the first drop is absolutely terrifying.
Schlitterbahn Water Park has been
pushing back the big unveiling of their monster slide.
It's 168 feet and 7 inches tall, which is 12 stories higher than The Cliff at the Beach Waterpark. It's taller than both the Statue of Liberty and Niagara Falls.
You also have to climb up 264 steps to get to the top.
It's expected to hit speeds of up
to 65 miles per hour. Still no word on the official
release date but the website says "sometime in 2014."
